ROASTERY

Once upon a time, Discovery Street cafe and the roastery shared a cozy home. Our roaster, Aaron, and his trusty Diedrich IR-7 worked hard to create for us the delicious brown stuff. Less than a year after opening, we outgrew ourselves and opened the space you see today. The roastery was tucked away in the basement of the cafe. Back then, it seemed like a spacious den and the IR-7 grew into an IR-12. In 2009, with the help of a wholesale program and our Oak Bay location we outgrew ourselves yet again. January 2010, an opportunity for a roastery dream space came along and we moved from the basement of 664 to the sunlit, open space of 660 Discovery Street. To keep up with the demand, a second IR-12 joined the team. Now, side by side the two beasts roast away.
